The pictures featured on this site are pictures taken at the 2004 and 2005 Rock and Shock festival.

For those who do not know of Rock & Shock:

Rock & Shock is an annual, one of a kind two-day horror convention, which takes place every year (beginning in 2004) in October at the Palladium and the DCU center.

The DCU center is rented out for the horror section of the extravaganza, and The Palladium for the music.

The horror segment features various vendors selling and advertising any horror themed product of theirs. Record stores, record labels, comics, toy, movie, and apparel dealers travel from all across the Unites States to become a part of Rock & Shock.

Rock & Shock at the DCU center will also feature movie showings, forthcoming movie trailers, costume contests, and the best part of all, the celebrity room.

Guests to fill the celebrity room include actors, such as Jeffery Combs (re-animator), Andrienne Barbeau (The Fog), Ashley Laurence (Hellraiser), The Devils Rejects cast, The Day of The Dead, Land of The Dead, and Dawn of The Dead cast, and more.

As well as actors, writers, directors, under the names of Joe Knetter, Jack Ketchum, Christopher Golden, and legendary, culture changing horror icon George A. Romero!

Autographs, pictures, or just a quick chat make the day at the convention.

Part two of the mayhem is where the mayhem is born. Around 5pm, it is time for fans of the hardcore genre to head over to the Palladium, as a series of bands will hit the stage. Bands who have played in the past are the Insane Clown Posse, The Misfits, Turbonegro, GWAR, Devildriver, and many more.

One of the openers for both years so far is The Deadites.

The Deadites are an awkward elements of the show, because they are not at all heavy metal…they don’t even have a guitarist. The Deadites were simply asked to join the chaos because of their glamorize, yet spooky stage show. I have displayed the pictures on these pages to illustrate a Deadites show for you.

Deadites Review

“We’re from France!” The Noble front man of The Deadites, Dynamo Habeeb shouts out into a crowd of death metal fans, after bringing the stage to life with their opener, No One Lives Forever. This was followed up by a few songs later by phrases like “USA: Number 2! France: Number 1!” To this the crowd would begin to respond by chanting “USA! USA! USA!”

Apparently fans of groups like GWAR, and Devil Driver don’t like bands that can sing. By the time The Deadites had reached their second song, Psycho Patrick, it was difficult to hear The Deadites, because GWAR fans are so obnoxious.

The crowd didn’t mature even gradually throughout the show, which caused the heat between Habeeb and the crowd to grow intense, when Habeeb would begin to to answer to the crowd's boo's with "I will Rape you!" and " I will Fuck your face!". The show was not at all peaceful.

After the drama between Habeeb and the crowd, what could be described to be a party on stage, a mosh-pit during Too Ugly For heaven, and only five songs, the Twilight Society decided to close their set with the classic closing song: Covered In Blood.

So next year at Rock & Shock I am pretty sure that the Deadites will not renew their contract. Rock & Shock crowds just don’t get along with the only French Electro-Shock group in history. I thought that The Deadites were great. As usual The Deadites put up their end as far as raising total chaos. I highly recommending seeing The Deadites when they are with a crowd free of obnoxious pigs, looking for waste to be blown at them. Set list:

  • No One Lives Forever
  • Psycho Patrick
  • New Murder From An Avenue Lounge
  • Shadow
  • Too Ugly For Heaven
  • Covered In Blood

A great show on The Deadites half. They brought the stage to life, they made me laugh my ass of, and I got to hear Too Ugly For heaven. I can't wait to see them again.
